About us

NUVO Elevators began in 2014 after a Calgary renovation client asked about a stylish, air-powered home elevator they couldn’t find locally. After being introduced to Pneumatic Vacuum Elevators, we visited the Florida head office, toured the facility, experienced the elevator firsthand, and completed the required training and certifications—earning distributor rights for Alberta and founding NUVO Elevators Inc.

In 2026, we’re excited to join forces with Hybrid Elevators, expanding our expertise and strengthening our ability to deliver even more accessibility, comfort, and premium elevator solutions for homes across Western Canada.

Today, we proudly sell and install these luxurious elevators throughout Alberta and into southeastern BC. Our favorite part of the work is seeing the impact on homeowners—smooth, quiet operation, beautiful designs that become a focal point of the home, and the freedom to stay in the home they love by removing the barrier of stairs.

For many of our customers, that means turning their house into a true “forever home.”

PVE

Pneumatic vacuum elevators are sleek, space-saving home elevators that use controlled air pressure inside a vertical tube (not cables or hydraulics) to deliver a smooth, quiet ride—adding everyday convenience, luxury style, and long-term accessibility that helps you stay in the home you love.

HYBRID

Hybrid elevators are a space-efficient, customizable, and low-maintenance residential elevator system built around Hybrid Elevator’s proprietary technology. They use a belt-driven, low-voltage, on-demand drive system (including battery operation for reliable performance during power outages) and a lightweight aerospace-grade aluminum structure designed for durability and efficiency. They’re also custom-built to fit available space, with a minimal footprint, self-contained design (no extra space outside the shaft required), and flexible entry/exit/drive positioning—making them suitable for both new builds and retrofits

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I get a vacuum elevator? Make your home your forever home and continue enjoying where you live and the community where you are also at home.

Is a pneumatic elevator safe? These elevators are extremely safe and very simple to operate. Simply depress the floor button of your choice and enjoy a quiet smooth ride. In the event of a neighborhood power failure, the cabin will slowly descend to the lower floor where the cabin door will then mechanically and automatically unlock allowing you to exit. This is one of the many fail safe features built into all Pneumatic Vacuum Elevators.

Can I add one of these elevators to my existing home? Short answer is, absolutely. We offer a free in-home consultation. We will show you locations within your home where our elevators can be installed. At the same time we will give you an exact price and not just a quote.

Where in Alberta does NUVO Elevators Inc. install elevators? We install our beautiful elevators in every city throughout the province of Alberta and beyond.
